"You Don't Need a Weatherman to Know which Way the Wind is Blows"... Bob Dylan.
Cool Is the Rule...Rain has moved into the area with this cooling trend and the weather reflects Fall. If you don't know by now that summer is coming to a close...I guess you need a Weatherman. "You Don't Need A Weatherman To Know Which Way The Wind Blows"...Bob Dylan.
The Maple River is facing beaver activity and the upper stretches are low in some areas but deep holes are the chance to catch that big Brook trout. The river by the new Braun Preserve has some beaver activity but is still maintaining a good flow. The Maple River below Woodland Road is still harboring big Brown and Rainbow trout but the challenge is still there.
Hatches are slowing down but Hoppers and simulators will work...Adams Para always. Working a streamer through big holes is always a chance for a big brown trout. Everything you experienced this season is on the line. Get creative.
The Pigeon and Black rivers are a fun trip this time of year. It is an all day outing, but with the Elk activity it is a real adventure. Start thinking fall colors and salmon runs...I can't wait!
