Tough Time of Year

Surprise storms blowing in off Lake Michigan, winds shifting from WNW to the East will bring some hot weather, but the jet stream is going to win the weather battle and bring us cooler temperatures as August progresses.
Just avoid the hot temps of the day. Mornings are no doubt the best time to fish. Evenings take some research as to water temperatures. Rivers are clear, high and cool... you have to out smart the trout.   Trico's, 9 AM to 11 AM, are the spoiler. They make it hard to fish and ruin the late night fishing unless a hatch of stone flies or Light Cahill's are present. Watch for the Cedar Wax Wings ( birds ), if they are present a hatch is in progress. It is a tricky time of the year to fish...so use those hoppers or terrestrials to get some success. Be alert the trout hit the terrestrials with an explosive take....fun...see you on the river.
