Thunder All Around

This is going to be an on and off weekend. Thunderstorms coming through yesterday, today and tomorrow. These storms can silt up the rivers fast. Fortunately, all the new green growth in the woods is holding a lot of the water from the storms. The Pigeon River and Black River have gotten hit and will not be the best for fishing. The Sturgeon River south of Wolverine is good and the Maple River, west branch, is the best right now. The main branch of the Maple is still having trouble clearing out the water and has a very dark and silty flow.
You will have to track where the thunderstorms hit the hardest and then go to other areas of the rivers. If you hear a storm coming get out of the water and to a safe place.
The trout are looking very healthy this year so far; large with nice bellies. Right now adams are working well along with trudes and wulffs. So enjoy the fishing and be alert to the storms. Big cool off on Monday and then looks like a good week. Will take a day or two of no rain to clear out the hard hit areas of the rivers.
P.S. Sorry of the water drop in the picture, want you to see just how good looking the trout are this year.
