What's Down the Road?

Driving from the North into Harbor Springs you can see the fall colors developing. It is the time that salmon spawn. King Salmon , Brook Trout all become active in the streams. It affords good opportunities to watch and catch the big boys.
The weather has been dry , but the water temperatures have remained cool. This weekend the hot weather will move into our area but will not stay long enough to over heat the rivers. Fish were biting earlier this week with the cold weather, however this weekend with on and off rain and 90's F temps,  a morning or evening fish might be the best choice.   We do need rain to bring the rivers back to healthy levels and give us a great fall fishing scenario. The bigger rivers like the Pigeon river still have good water levels but the Maple River is low and needs the rain.
